Lasagna
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
- 2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato paste
- 2 cans (6 ounces each) tomato sauce
- 1 can (15 ounces) ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef, Italian sausage, garlic, and onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, and seasonings. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, and meat sauce. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
